Breakfast Basics

Free breakfast is available to all Bucyrus students on a daily basis. The breakfast schedule is as follows:

  • Bucyrus Secondary School cafeteria: 7:35 – 7:45 a.m.

  • Bucyrus Elementary School classrooms: 8:20 -8:35 a.m.

  • Bucyrus Preschool gym/cafeteria: 9 – 9:15 a.m.

Lunch Prices

Student lunch prices for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:

  • Elementary Full Price Lunch $3.50

  • Secondary Full Price Lunch $3.75

  • Reduced Price Lunch $0

  • Adult Lunch $4.50 (without milk)

  • Adult Breakfast $3 (without milk)

  • Milk Price $.50

  • Student Extra Entree $2.25

  • Adult Extra Entree $3.50

Charge Policy

Bucyrus City Schools will observe the following meal charge procedures:

  • No student’s charge balance will be allowed to reach $100;

  • Elementary students (PreK-5) will be allowed to charge up to 28 meals or a total of $98;

  • Secondary students (6-12) will be allowed to charge up to 26 meals or a total of $97.50;

  • Once these charges are incurred, students will not be allowed to purchase a meal;

  • Only full meals can be charged.  No a la carte purchases are permitted to be charged;

  • A la carte will NOT be sold to students who have a negative account balance, even if they have cash.

     

  • Letters will be mailed home every two weeks to the guardian of any student who has a negative balance of -$5 or more in their food service account.

  • All food service balances, negative or positive will be carried over to the next school year. Graduating seniors must pay their balance before graduation.

  • Student account balances can be paid by cash or check at either Bucyrus Elementary or Bucyrus Secondary, or by creating an account at payforit.net.

It is strongly encouraged for families to complete the Free and Reduced Application annually. Only one application per household is required; all students in one household can be included on the same application. Free and Reduced Applications will be sent home with each student during the first week of school. Applications are also available in the elementary, middle and high school offices.
